Let your babes have all of the fun of decorating their own cupcakes without having to clean up all of the mess in the kitchen! With this magnificent cupcake decorating activity you can teach your children skills such as tracing, coloring in the lines, and pasting!
Cupcake Decorating Activity Materials
- A couple pieces of cardboard (We just use recycled cardboard from boxes we have laying around the house!)
- Cupcake Stencil
- Glue Sticks
- Markers / Paint to use as “frosting”
- Sprinkles (you can use real sprinkles, or cut up pieces of construction paper!)
- Pom Poms
- Birthday Candles
- Paper Cupcake Liners
- Silicone Cupcake Liners
- Cake Toppers (basically whatever you have lying around the house that’s cupcake-like, we used little star wands but anything can work, get creative!)

How to…
Step 1: Print and trace cupcake stencil onto cardboard and set up silicone cupcake trays with “toppings”
Step 2: Let the kids go crazy and use their creativity to decorate the cupcakes!
This Mess-Free Magnificent Cupcake Decorating Activity is seriously fun for all ages! My girls are 2 1/2 and 11 months old and this activity kept them busy for hours! They loved being able to decorate cupcakes like Mommy does! It was fun for me to decorate a cardboard cupcake alongside of them and put my art skills to the test as well!
Pro-tip: Dress your babes in one of the iloveplum B.B. Tutus for added cuteness!
