Impress your family this Thanksgiving with this Delicious DIY Bread Cornucopia Charcuterie!
- Tin Foil
- Baking Spray
- Parchment Paper
- French Bread Dough (homemade or 2-3 premade rolls)
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 Egg
- 1/4 cup of water
- Cooking Brush
Step 1: Cut a piece of foil and shape it into a cone. Curl the tail to your preferred shape. Ball up more tin foil and stuff the cone full. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
Step 2: Cover the outside of the cone with baking spray. Place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Set aside.
Step 3: Lightly cover your surface with flour anddivide the dough into 8 sections. Roll a section into a 1″ thickness and lightly flatten. (If you are using pre-made dough, unroll and cut into 1″ strips if it is not already cut)
Step 4: Whisk the egg and water together to make a glaze
Step 5: Begin to wrap your tin foil cone with strips of dough. Start at the wide mouth, moving towards the tail. As you overlap pieces of dough, use the egg glaze as glue. Lightly press the strips together. When you get to the tail, form the curl to your preference. Save one of your strips of dough for the braided mouth.
Step 6: Divide your remaining strip of dough into 3 sections. Pinch the 3 strips together at the top and braid the dough. Use glaze to glue the braid around the mouth of the cornucopia.
Step 7: Use the rest of the glaze to cover the finished shape. (feeling fancy? add some sesame or poppy seeds to the braided edge)
Step 8: Bake for 40 min or until the whole cornucopia is golden brown. If the top starts to cook too quickly, cover the top with tin foil to protect it. When done, remove from oven and let cool completely.
Step 9: Fill with delicious treats and serve! Can be prepared the day before & stored in a paper bag for freshness.
The best part is once you finish the charcuterie you can enjoy your DIY Bread Cornucopia!
