Keep sneaky leprechauns away from your gold with this Super Simple Leprechaun Trap Craft!
What you’ll need:
- Green cauldron
- Gold glitter paper
- Green glitter paper
- Gold alphabet stickers
- Clover stickers
- Gold plastic coins (approx 40)
- Gold chocolate coins (or any candy as bait)
- Wooden dowels 0.125 in x 12 in (to hold free gold sign)
- Metallic gold paint/paintbrush
- Hot glue gun
- Scissors
- Mini ladder (buy or DIY from wood dowels or pipe cleaner)
How to:
Step 1: Trace the top of the cauldron on the back of gold glitter paper and cut out a slightly larger circle so it covers the opening of the cauldron. Cut an “X” in the center of the circle for the trap door.
Step 2: Hot glue plastic gold coins to the top of the glitter paper leaving the center X spot clear.
Step 3: Cut the green glitter paper into an 8×3 inch rectangle and center gold letter stickers “free gold” onto it.
Step 4: Paint the ladder and wooden dowels with metallic gold paint.
Step 5: Once dry, hot glue the “free gold” sign to the wooden dowels by rolling the edge of green glitter paper around the wooden dowels.
Step 6: Cut two small x’s into the gold glitter paper near the cauldron handles to insert the wooden dowels and display the free gold sign.
Step 7: Decorate outside of your Leprechaun Trap Craft with clover gemstone stickers.
Step 8: Add chocolate gold coins or other candy to the inside of the cauldron for additional leprechaun bait.
Step 9: And last hot glue ladder to the front of the Leprechaun Trap Craft and wait for your leprechaun to show up!
