Spooky Cute DIY Halloween Necklace

My daughter loves to play dress up, so making seasonal necklaces for her has become a fun tradition. This Spooky Cute DIY Halloween Necklace was so simple and turned out so fun!

What You’ll Need:

  • Foam Shapes
  • Plastic Spiders
  • Wood Beads
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Large Sewing Needle
  • Yarn/String
    Ribbon/Tulle
  • Glitter (Optional)
  • Mod Podge (Optional)
Materials

How To:

Step 1: Once you’ve gathered the supplies for your necklace, you can repaint your pieces to whatever color you want with acrylic paint.

Step 2: I found the foam skulls and spider rings at Dollar Tree and decided to give them a makeover. For the skulls, I used ivory paint and shades of pink, purple and yellow for the wooden beads and spiders. The spiders actually came as rings, but with scissors I was easily able to snip the back part of plastic off.

Step 2

Step 3: I applied two coats of paint to everything I painted. After the paint dries on your skulls and spiders you can add glitter and mod podge to help seal them!

Step 4: Cut a piece of yarn or string big enough to slip over your child’s head easily.

Step 5: Next, use a large sewing needle to poke a hole for the thread in your foam shape. Using the needle also makes it easier to thread the string through the wood beads.

Step 5

Step 6: Assemble the wood beads in any pattern you’d like around the skull and tie a couple small pieces of ribbon or tulle once you have the beads in place.

Step 7: Lastly, I hot glued spiders onto strands of ribbon and finished off the necklace by tying a knot in the back.
