We wanted to add handmade Halloween decor to our daughters bedroom. We decided on making this cute DIY Clay Bat Wall Hanging using our favorite colors!
What You’ll Need:
- Oven baked clay
- Cookie cutters
- Rolling pin
- Paint brushes
- Acrylic paint
- Modge Podge
Step 1: Knead your oven baked clay and flatten it with your rolling pin. You can make your bat charm as thick or thin as needed.
Step 2: You’re going to use your bat cookie cutters and make three shapes.
Once you make your shapes, put it on a pan with parchment paper.
Step 3: Preheat your oven to the directions of the oven baked clay. Then you’re going to want to poke a hole with your tooth pick on the top and bottoms of your bats, leaving the last bat bottom with no hole. This is going to make sure we can tie thread to each bat.
Step 4: After the clay is baked and cooled, paint your bats with fun colors! We chose prairie sunset, conch shell pink and vintage tea rose from Folk Art Acrylic.
Step 5: Once that is dry we added embellishments and glitter using Modge Podge.
Step 6: Lastly, tie the thread of each bat to each other.
